About Mother Nurture

Pic.jpg

Welcome to Mother Nurture, a sanctuary for the incredible journey of motherhood, founded by Alexis Demuth. As a Registered Dietitian, Yoga Instructor, and devoted mom, I've poured my passion for well-being into creating a space that acknowledges the challenges of motherhood while celebrating the profound beauty it brings.

My journey into nutrition and yoga began with a degree from the College of Saint Benedict and a dietetic internship at Viterbo University. After diverse experiences, including working as a retail dietitian at Hy-Vee and specializing in mental health and eating disorders in private practice, I discovered an unexpected passion for motherhood.

Mother Nurture is a culmination of my experiences, offering a blend of personalized nutritional counseling, body-positive coaching, and calming yoga sessions. My goal is to empower moms to nourish themselves and their little ones, embracing every step of this transformative process.

Join me on this journey where we acknowledge the struggles, increase the joy, and create a supportive community for all moms. Motherhood is a unique adventure, and Mother Nurture is here to guide you with warmth, compassion, and a touch of humor.

Welcome to a space where wellness meets the heart of motherhood.

Why work with an Registered Dietitian (RD)?

Education

To be a Dietitian, you need a 4 year dietetic degree from an accredited university. Studies focus on food science, food service, medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition, and more! Following this, you must complete a 6 month to one year internship in a highly competitive field (only 50% of applicants actually get accepted!) Finally, you must pass the dietetic boards exam.

Credentials

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a protected credential that requires extensive education, supervised practice and continuing education. Most states, including Minnesota also have licensure for dietitians, which you will see listed as LD. This allows dietitians to give medical nutrition therapy exclusively.

Never Stop Learning

To keep your RD credentials you must complete 75 continuing education credits every 5 years. Some of the continuing education courses I have taken thus far include Vitamins 101, Alliance for Food and Farming, Environmental Sustainability and Dietary Guide and Social Media Best Practices.
